It is the crowd who always decides on who is good and who isnt. One man's meat is another man's poison. The band has to appeal to the crowd, the large majority, and when they dont, that is also obvious. Every band can include new songs every other week, but not necessarily they sound good at what they sing! These guys cannot compare to the sounds of Great Vijay, Albert and Bada or even Jericho. You can have 1 band that appeals to the minority and another that appeals to the majority. These people only appeal to the minority, hence, dead Fridays. The quality of the band is determined on the crowd that they have when they perform, if they were that good, they would be pulling in the crowd on Fridays.... I rest my case.

After reading the comments, I have come to a conclusion that my fellow "music-lovers" have finally lost it! It is incomprehensible to me that this bunch of affable and talented musicians are being unfairly criticised. I have been to backyard when "jericho" used to play and also recently to watch "s.w.v". There is no competition! It's obvious why "s.w.v" are the reigning top of the pubs champs. They are, by leaps and bounds, the most professional and entertaining band i've seen in a long time. I am also impressed by their inclusion of new songs every week..(unlike another band i know). Rumour has it that jericho will be coming back next month on fridays. i pray that this is not true as it will be a real shame to lose the "champs".. Anyway, great job on the homepage.

Friday's are boring and dead, and I dont even wonder why. No further comment as that explains everything about the band.

John Doe... look around, how many people in the crowd are actually musicians, therefore, your statement "from a musicians point of view" is irrelevant. They are suppose to appeal to the public and not the musicians. They sing regular music like most bands do, but what makes some of the bands stand out amongst the others is they have their own style and the little something that goes a long way. These guys just... sing... nothing special about them.

I have not been in the music industry for years and tho I have not been around much but I must say, I know a thing or two about music. I must agree, these guys are not as good as I expected and in fact, they are a disappointment, below average. If they are as good as they sound, then they should be packing up the crowd... but I dont see that. In fact, the crowd comes in on Saturdays and it is no wonder why to as Albert, Vijay and Bada are the best around. Let the crowd speak for themselves John Doe. It is the comments of the majority that matters and not the minority. These people are just being honest observers and if you cant take it... tough.

Well i guess the level of people having a good ear for music at he pub has actually gone down a nob or two...As the previous comments say so....SWV are a very good band and the play quality music...thats from a musicians point of view....When it comes to programming music,these guys are the best in the business...no doubt about it...Its sad to have people that dont know nothin' bout music placing their comments as such....Plus i'm sure the management listens to productive comments....not time wasting ones like the few that were written above....(Capische???)SWV ROCKS!!!!!!

I heard that they are top of the pubs champions??? i've never seen them perform before this and when i finally did at BACKYARD, they sounded baaaaaaaaad!! i just dont understand. where have all the good bands gone?? BACKYARD had a fantastic reputation of maintaining all the good bands but this has gone to the dogs lately. Except for Albert, Vijay and Bada, the rest sound like bands just trying to make a buck outside Central Market. Come on! Buckle up BACKYARD, or else you will loose the crowd-pulling effect you once had. Do the management actually listen to comments, or do they just do what pleases them and not the customers?? Its the customers that will determine if you do or die. Capische (?)

Yeah well... thats why I heard they wont be around much longer :) and some people say William Hung is tone deaf... good riddance they are soon disappearing...
